Curtin University graduate Senator the Hon. Michaelia Cash has been appointed Minister for Women, Minister for Employment and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull swore Senator Cash into Federal Cabinet on 21 September.<\/p>\n
Regarding Senator Cash\u2019s appointment, the Prime Minister said: \u201cShe has led\u00a0the Government’s policy\u00a0development on women’s issues especially in regards to our\u00a0response to the scourge of\u00a0domestic violence.\u201d<\/p>\n
Senator Cash graduated from Curtin University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences), holding a triple major in public relations, politics and journalism.<\/p>\n
She was first elected to the Senate for Western Australia in 2008 and previously held the positions of Assistant Minister for Immigration & Border Protection and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women.<\/p>\n
