{"id":5022,"date":"2014-10-16T00:57:22","date_gmt":"2014-10-15T16:57:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/curtin-council-visits-kalgoorlie\/"},"modified":"2024-08-16T10:43:16","modified_gmt":"2024-08-16T02:43:16","slug":"curtin-council-visits-kalgoorlie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/curtin-council-visits-kalgoorlie\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin Council visits Kalgoorlie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Curtin Council visited Kalgoorlie on 10 September for their monthly meeting, in what is believed to be the first time a Curtin Council meeting has been held on a regional campus.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to formal meetings, Council members met with key community stakeholders over lunch to share their vision for Curtin, particularly the Kalgoorlie Campus and the Curtin WA School of Mines.<\/p>\n<p>At lunch, the group was addressed by the Chancellor, Mr Colin Beckett, and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Deborah Terry, who delivered a presentation and led a discussion on Curtin\u2019s long-term commitment to Kalgoorlie and the strategic planning currently underway for the Kalgoorlie Campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA close working relationship with the community, as well as our industry partners, is critical to the current and future success of the Kalgoorlie Campus,\u201d Professor Terry said.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the day, Council members hosted a reception in the Curtin WA School of Mines Graduate\u2019s Hall.
