Raoul Marks, a Fremantle-raised animator and Curtin graduate, is part of the creative trio who recently won an Emmy for the opening credits design of HBO hit, True Detective.<\/p>\n

The group designed the eerie sequence out of their Sydney studio, where Marks has been based for the past three years. This was the creative team\u2019s first pitch to Hollywood, beating four industry-experienced firms to take on the project.<\/p>\n

The True Detective opening credits have been widely praised for enhancing the storyline and setting the tone instead of creating something that the viewers would prefer to skip over.<\/p>\n

The Emmy nomination has been a springboard for Marks\u2019s animation career<\/a>. Now based in LA, he has recently been involved in the Adidas World Cup advertisements and has worked on AMC\u2019s new show, Halt and Catch Fire.<\/p>\n
