{"id":4937,"date":"2014-06-26T05:13:14","date_gmt":"2014-06-25T21:13:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/curtin-researchers-added-prestigious-thomson-reuters-lists\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T13:07:02","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T05:07:02","slug":"curtin-researchers-added-prestigious-thomson-reuters-lists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/curtin-researchers-added-prestigious-thomson-reuters-lists\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin researchers added to prestigious Thomson Reuters lists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two Curtin University researchers have been featured on the esteemed Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list 2014 \u2013 a list comprised of researchers whose papers have ranked among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication.<\/p>\n<p>The international list represents some of the world\u2019s leading scientific minds.&nbsp; Since the introduction of the Highly Cited Researchers list in 2001, only 3,000 researchers worldwide have been included.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Simon Wilde and Professor Zheng-Xiang Li, both from the Department of Applied Geology, have been included in the 2014 list for their papers in geoscience. &nbsp;Their current research spreads from Australia to many other parts of the world, with an overarching theme of understanding the evolution and dynamics of the Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Having researchers included on the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list is a very significant outcome for Curtin and it is one of five indicators that determine the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two Curtin University researchers have been featured on the esteemed Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list 2014<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4275,"featured_media":494,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_oasis_is_in_workflow":0,"_oasis_original":0,"_oasis_task_priority":"","_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","wds_primary_category":0,"wds_primary_research-areas":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"research-areas":[],"class_list":["post-4937","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-campus-and-global-community"],"acf":{"post_options":{"":null,"additional_content":{"title":"","content":"","image":false},"related_courses":[{"title":"Applied Geology","qualification":"Bachelor of Science","link":"http:\/\/geology.curtin.edu.au","description":"Geology graduates pursue exciting and rewarding careers in Australia and overseas that combine practical skills with the latest technological developments.
