Colour will abound on campus all throughout November this year as Curtin participates in Pride Month.<\/p>\n

Curtin\u2019s participation in Pride Month was kicked off by the official launch of the rainbow art installation at Upper Henderson Court by Curtin\u2019s Ally Champion and Vice-President Corporate Relations and Development, Val Raubenheimer, cutting the ribbon. Curtin has already participated in the main Pridefest launch event, the Pride Parade, held on 2 November.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurtin was a gold sponsor for Pridefest this year and had a significant presence at the parade with a number of students and staff participating in the parade,\u201d Ms Raubenheimer said.<\/p>\n
Curtin is the highest ranking university in Australia for LGBTI equality. It is also one of the top 10 employers Australia-wide in 2013 according to the Australia Workplace Equality Index, and has been commended for the ALLY program.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurtin’s Ally program aims to foster a culture that is inclusive of sexual and gender diversity,\u201d Ms Raubenheimer explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn Ally is someone who supports the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.\u201d<\/p>\n
All throughout the month, students and staff will be dazzled after dark with a rainbow light display.
