{"id":4779,"date":"2011-08-07T03:16:41","date_gmt":"2011-08-06T19:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/triumph-in-barcelona\/"},"modified":"2025-02-17T15:54:03","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T07:54:03","slug":"triumph-in-barcelona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/triumph-in-barcelona\/","title":{"rendered":"Triumph in Barcelona"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four Curtin students have returned triumphant from Barcelona after playing key roles in developing a winning communication plan for a multinational medical equipment company.<\/p>\n<p>Insyirah Binte Abdullah, Nadhilah Shahruddin, Quin Song and Ronald Pang took part in the Global Communication Project (GlobCom) where students from 11 universities worldwide worked to create a communications plan for medical and technical equipment company Carl Zeiss.<\/p>\n<p>The students toiled day and night on websites, Facebook and Skype. \u00a0They collaborated online across time zones to produce a pitch for the company.<\/p>\n<p>The culmination of the project saw the students travel to Barcelona, pitch to Carl Zeiss and lecturers from around the globe, and catch up with their international team-mates.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Abdullah said the project was demanding but fulfilling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew from the start that we were going to have plenty of late night online meetings, miscommunications, and so on,&#8221;
