staff lauded at national teaching awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ten members of Curtin&#8217;s teaching staff have been acknowledged for their stellar work in the classroom, after recently being chosen to receive Australian Learning and Teaching Council Awards for 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Goldacre, Katharina Wolf and Lisa Tee will receive Awards for Teaching Excellence while seven other Curtin staff members will receive Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning at the ALTC ceremony at the Sydney Opera house in August.<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt><div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-4774 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<p>After previously working as a solicitor in a national law firm, Ms Goldacre has been unit co-ordinator of Business Law 100 at Curtin Business School, one of the largest units in the university with over 3,000 students enrolling annually.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Wolf\u2019s innovative approach to running two units of Curtin\u2019s Bachelor of Commerce (Public Relations) has helped it become one of the most prestigious public relations degrees in Australia, with Curtin PR graduates taking out some of the industry\u2019s most coveted prizes in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>With experience studying and working in pharmacology across the globe, Dr Tee was appointed Director of Teaching and Learning in Curtin\u2019s School of Pharmacy in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The staff to receive citations are Professor Richard Ladyshewsky, Associate Professors Sonia  Dickinson, Joseph Fernandez and Janice McKay, Dr Allan Goody, Karen  Glaister and Yin Ling Tan.<\/p>\n<p>The ALTC Awards celebrate excellence in teaching, and honour individuals and teams who demonstrate outstanding presentation skills and have made a significant contribution to enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in higher education with an award worth $25,000.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the awards, visit the <a
