Despite the chilly Sunday morning conditions, roughly 200 volunteers came together at the Wittenoom Street Bushland Reserve to plant approximately 3,000 native seedlings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-10-800x500.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31724\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event brought together community members, local organisations and Curtin volunteers, all united by a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and caring for the local landscape. The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group has led reforestation and land rehabilitation efforts across the Goldfields for several decades, helping to reduce dust impacts and restore native vegetation throughout the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For GUDRH staff and students, the day was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, enjoy the outdoors and make a practical contribution to a local initiative with lasting benefits.
