We’re\u00a0thrilled to\u00a0have\u00a0officially welcomed\u00a0our first student cohort for 2026 with a full\u2011day, Goldfields based,\u00a0orientation session.\u00a0Together,\u00a06\u00a0allied health\u00a0students\u00a0from Curtin and La Trobe\u00a0Universities, have launched into\u00a0their\u00a0‘Rural Immersion’ placements\u00a0with connection,\u00a0curiosity\u00a0and\u00a0a strong sense\u00a0of what\u00a0rural health\u00a0is\u00a0really about.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The orientation blended practical information with interactive sessions designed to spark conversation and challenge assumptions. From exploring \u201cWhat is Rural?\u201d, to learning about the social and economic factors shaping health outcomes across the Goldfields, students gained valuable insight into the realities and rewards of rural practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A guided campus and town tour helped bring this learning to life, with a cultural education session that deepened our students\u2019 understanding of our local communities and the importance of culturally safe healthcare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our region is vibrant, welcoming and full of character, offering a placement experience like no other. From strong community connections to wide\u2011open landscapes and passionate health professionals, the Goldfields has a way of making a lasting impression. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
