One major exhibition at Curtin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reading time: 2 minutes<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What happens when artists from across regional Western Australia come together to explore what comes next?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Regional Arts Triennial \u2013 Radical Futures<\/strong> brings the work of <strong>49 artists from 13 regional exhibitions across WA<\/strong> to John Curtin Gallery, exploring ideas around culture, community, belonging, the environment and the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developed across 2025 and 2026, the exhibition brings together work shaped by the different stories, environments and aspirations of regional communities across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">See regional WA from a different perspective<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The works in <em>Radical Futures<\/em> reflect the places and communities they come from, while exploring broader themes including <strong>cultural continuity, ecological responsibility, migration, belonging and community resilience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of the works are site-responsive or collaborative, meaning they have been shaped by the specific places, people and environments connected to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together at John Curtin Gallery, they offer a chance to experience a wide range of perspectives from regional WA in one exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So, why \u201cRadical Futures\u201d?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Radical Futures<\/em> is the third Regional Arts Triennial, following <em>The Alternative Archive<\/em> and <em>Open Borders<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While previous Triennials explored regional histories and the barriers and thresholds of contemporary regional life, this edition turns its attention towards <strong>what comes next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition considers how regional communities <strong>imagine, make and care for the future<\/strong>, positioning wonder and imagination as part of that conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A statewide exhibition, right here at Curtin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Regional Arts Triennial is held every three years and showcases artists, stories and cultural voices from regional Western Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After bringing these regional perspectives to metropolitan audiences at John Curtin Gallery, <em>Radical Futures<\/em> will continue as a statewide touring exhibition with <strong>ART ON THE MOVE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So whether you\u2019re interested in art, sustainability, culture, regional WA or simply want to check out something new on campus, <em>Radical Futures<\/em> is an opportunity to explore the stories and ideas being shared by artists from across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exhibition Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exhibition Open:&nbsp;<\/strong>18 September \u2013 6 December 2026<\/p>\n\n\n<section          class=\"block button-block\" role=\"complementary\" aria-label=\"Button block\"\n         data-segment=\"all\">\n\n        \n<div class=\"block-heading hidden\" data-segment=\"dom\">\n                                <h2 class=\"block-heading__title \" id=\"button-block\">Button block<\/h2>\n            \n                        \n                        \n                            <\/div>\n\n            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/jcg\/exhibitions\/radicalfutures\/\" class=\"button button--black\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more<\/a>    \n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>49 artists. 13 regional exhibitions.
