From holiday snaps to graduation posts, personal details like your full name, birthday, location, and even pet names can be used to guess passwords or answer security questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Identity theft is on the rise and oversharing makes it easier. DTS wants you to know what to look out for and how to stay safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our recommendations:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Smart sharing starts here<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Don\u2019t share your full birthdate, home address, travel plans, or anything that could help someone access your accounts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lock down your profiles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set your social media accounts to private by following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esafety.gov.au\/key-topics\/esafety-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eSafety Commissioner guidance<\/a>. Review who can see your posts and remove old ones with sensitive info.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Don\u2019t feed the phish<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scammers can pose as friends.
