{"id":30200,"date":"2026-02-23T09:46:33","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T01:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/?post_type=oasis-news&#038;p=30200"},"modified":"2026-02-23T09:46:37","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T01:46:37","slug":"applications-are-now-open-for-the-professional-development-grant","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/applications-are-now-open-for-the-professional-development-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications are now open for the Professional Development Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Reading time: 1 minute<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Professional Development Grant&nbsp;has been developed to support students&nbsp;undertaking activities that enhance their academic learning and their personal and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding can support a range of activities aligned with the values of leadership, service, and community impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship can be used toward the following areas and types of activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Global Citizenship and Leadership<\/strong>: Activities that foster cross-cultural understanding, diplomacy or leadership in global or regional contexts (e.g. attending youth summits or policy forums).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Service and Social Impact<\/strong>: Activities that demonstrate social responsibility, advocacy or community contribution (e.g. volunteering with humanitarian organisations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research, Innovation and Creative Endeavour<\/strong>: Activities that extend academic learning through independent or collaborative inquiry or creative practice (e.g. developing a prototype with real-world application).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professional Development and Industry Engagement<\/strong>: Activities that strengthen employability and future career pathways through applied learning (e.g. completing a professional certification).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-intro-font-size\"><strong>Am I eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must meet all the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the scholarship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Domestic student (Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian or New Zealand citizen)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrolled in a minimum 50 credits in any year of an eligible degree in Semester 1, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 60<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intending on completing\/participating in an event\/activity that relates to one of the following four themes:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Career development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promotion of social justice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Service to the community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event\/activity must take place between January 2026 &#8211; August 2027<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event\/activity must\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0be part of a graded course activity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive endorsement of the event\/activity you will be undertaking from your relevant school\/faculty\/area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-intro-font-size\"><strong>Ready to apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scholarships.curtin.edu.au\/Scholarship\/?id=7771\">Apply now<\/a> via the Scholarships website.
