What happens when your biggest dream ends, but your drive doesn\u2019t? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 14 years, soccer defined Reeve\u2019s life,\u00a0until injuries forced him to rethink everything. Now studying commerce, majoring in\u00a0logistics\u00a0and\u00a0supply\u00a0chain\u00a0management and\u00a0international\u00a0business,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0channelled that same drive into a new passion and a future he never saw coming.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 14 years, soccer was everything to Reeve. He trained hard, played and could\u2019ve played state league and paid games, until injuries and multiple surgeries forced him to step back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of Reeve\u2019s most driving values is to always put 100% effort into what he works on. He has always put 100% into soccer, so when he couldn\u2019t play to that level anymore, he had to find something else. That effort and mindset was put into his university work instead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now studying a Bachelor of Commerce, Reeve has found a new passion and direction. For him, commerce stood out as a flexible degree, and logistics felt almost like a family tradition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On his dad\u2019s side, his family often works in logistics job. With his dad being one of 11, and  many uncles and cousins in the industry, Reeve grew up around it, doing work experience and worked in logistics warehouses. He found that logistics \u2018just clicked\u2019 with him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reeve says what excites him most is how dynamic the field can be.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just a desk job. You\u2019ve got procurement, supply chain operations and so many different paths. It keeps you on your toes. Sure, it can be high pressure, but I enjoy that adrenaline rush.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

His journey into uni wasn\u2019t through the traditional ATAR pathway. Instead, he completed UniReady and a Certificate IV in Business, which turned out to be the perfect stepping stone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In high school,\u00a0he\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0consider himself\u00a0a high achiever.\u00a0But\u00a0uni\u00a0was\u00a0so different\u00a0for him.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re\u00a0studying what you want to study, and that motivates you. I realised I\u00a0enjoy\u00a0learning.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

That mindset has seen Reeve dive into opportunities he never imagined. He joined the Business School\u2019s High Achievers Program, competed in a global supply chain tournament where his team ranked in the top 25 out of 150 universities and institutions worldwide, and even travelled to Singapore on a two-week New Colombo Plan Scholarship study tour.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His studies have already taken him beyond the classroom. Reeve joined the Singapore Supply Chain Study Tour under the New Colombo Plan, where he saw first-hand how one of the world\u2019s logistics hubs operates. He found this experience incredibly valuable and allowed him to experience a different perspective compared to Australia. The experience also introduced him to lifelong friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reeve also tested his skills on a global stage in the Fresh Connection Supply Chain Competition, where his team placed in the top 30% worldwide against other universities and institutions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a lot of teamwork, analysing graphs and making tough decisions with real-world implications. It showed how important collaboration is in supply chain management.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On campus, he has been part of the Business School\u2019s High Achievers Program, which helped him connect with like-minded students and refine his professional mindset. The program taught him how important practical understanding is, reflecting that even if you can do well at uni, doesn\u2019t mean you can put the theory into practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going overseas for credit towards his degree wasn\u2019t something he thought he\u2019d ever do. But being in Singapore, the logistics hub of the world, gave him a different perspective and he found it really valuable to see how business operates there compared to Australia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond academics, university has also given him a strong sense of community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy favourite thing has been meeting new people. I came in with just my high school mates, but now I\u2019ve got a whole group I see outside of uni. It\u2019s about connecting, hearing other people\u2019s stories, and finding shared interests. That\u2019s been huge for me.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Reeve\u2019s family heritage has also played a role in shaping his future goals. He\u2019s currently securing Polish citizenship through his grandfather, which will give him EU citizenship and open doors for career opportunities abroad. But it\u2019s not just about work, it\u2019s about heritage too. With his great-grandfather being a fighter pilot in World War II, his respect and desire for connection means a lot to him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for what comes next, Reeve has received an offer as a graduate consultant at KPMG for their compliance and procurement team. He attests that working hard, giving 100% to his uni work and taking every opportunity offered, helped him land that position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
