If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault or harassment, recently or in the past, there is help available at Curtin. You are not alone, and you have options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Safer Community Team is here to support you. Whether you\u2019re worried about your own safety or concerned about someone else, you can reach out at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is the Safer Community Team?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Safer Community Team is a group of trained staff who handle everything from general safety concerns to serious incidents like physical or sexual assault. They&#8217;re here to respond to emergencies, guide you through your options and offer ongoing support to help keep you safe and supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can contact them even if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The incident happened in the past<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019re not in immediate danger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019re unsure whether you want to make a formal report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to make a report<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can report an incident in a way that feels comfortable and safe for you. Here are your options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Reach out online, by filling out a confidential online report form. You can choose to include your name or remain anonymous\u2014it\u2019s completely up to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/properties.curtin.edu.au\/campus-safety\/report-incident-concern\/\">Report an incident online<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By phone<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Call the Safer Community Team on <a href=\"+6189266%204444\">(08) 9266 4444.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every report is handled with care and sensitivity. Your privacy and comfort are respected every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What happens after you disclose?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve made contact, the Safer Community Team can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help you understand your options<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support you with any medical, legal or counselling needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work with you to stay safe on and off campus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect you with Curtin support services or external resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You decide what happens next. The team will walk you through every option, with no pressure to take any step you\u2019re not ready for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If you&#8217;re not ready to report<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s okay. Support is still available. You don\u2019t have to go through this alone or have all the answers right away. If and when you\u2019re ready to talk, Curtin\u2019s Safer Community and Student Wellbeing teams are here to help on your terms, at your pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you ever feel unsafe or want to talk to someone about an incident of sexual harassment, sexual assault or any other form of gender-based violence, please reach out.
