Volunteering is a great way to meet people from all walks of life, while also giving back to the community. These connections can often lead to lasting friendships, study groups and support networks\u2014lifelines when you\u2019re far from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Gain valuable skills and boost your resume<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteering is not only rewarding, but a practical way to gain skills that look great on your resume. If you have ever wondered how you can gain &#8216;local&#8217; experience while studying abroad, volunteering allows you to build hands-on experience in communication, leadership and project management by working with the community\u2014all skills employers love to see on your CV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.
