You\u2019ve probably seen the advertisements on OASIS, the emails in your inbox and even heard your lecturers ask you to complete the survey. We\u2019re in the thick of student feedback season with Insight, Curtin\u2019s recently revamped unit and teaching survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But trust me, it\u2019s all for a very good reason. Feedback is one of the foundations of the university experience. It\u2019s an incredibly valuable tool for continuous learning; it helps us to strive to improve our skills and drive the motivation to go beyond our known capabilities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s also an integral part of how the University improves the student experience. We\u2019ve collated a few reasons why providing feedback is one of the best things you can do for your learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feedback is essential for growth<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Just like you might receive feedback on an assignment or exam, which points out what you did well and what you can improve on, feedback about your unit and teaching has the same impact. It\u2019s important to provide honest and constructive feedback about what you found useful, what worked, what didn\u2019t, and what needs to be improved so that your (and your peers) future learning experience with a particular unit can be the best it can be.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advocate for yourself and your peers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The student voice is an integral part of the university environment. Through giving feedback on your units and teaching through Insight, you can advocate for yourself and others in your class so that the university can make changes that ultimately benefit you and your future learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real people, who can make positive change at Curtin, are reading your feedback.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Your feedback matters. Changemakers within the university are the ones looking at your anonymous feedback \u2013 cataloguing and evaluating what needs to improve across Curtin\u2019s units. We listen to what you have to say and do our best to implement changes where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An opportunity to express gratitude to the tutors and lecturers who helped create an unforgettable semester<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sure, improvement is always what we strive for through constructive feedback, however Insight is also an opportunity to give heartfelt gratitude and recognition to the tutors and lecturers who make your units worthwhile. Who doesn\u2019t love a warm and fuzzy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s still time to have your say on your learning experience this semester. Curtin\u2019s unit and teaching survey, Insight, closes on 25 November.
