Foreign interference may appear in the form of undue influence over campus activities, disruptions to academic freedom of expression, harassment, intimidation, monitoring of staff and students, and facilitation of unwanted technology transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These actions are inconsistent with Curtin\u2019s and Australia\u2019s academic freedoms and values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know your rights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While at Curtin:<\/p>\n\n\n

Express opinions<\/td>Use hate speech<\/td><\/tr>
Write and show your beliefs<\/td>Make or suggest threats<\/td><\/tr>
Peacefully protest<\/td>Attempt to censor or silence others\u2019 opinions<\/td><\/tr>
Engage in healthy debate<\/td>Create fear through intimidation<\/td><\/tr>
Participate in student clubs<\/td>Demand or coerce changes to academic subject matter<\/td><\/tr>
Join and leave any club or organisation<\/td>Access or share others\u2019 private information without consent<\/td><\/tr>
Disagree with, criticise and question any politicians, political parties, governments or public figures<\/td>Harass, threaten, defame or discriminate<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Reporting on anyone to a foreign government without their consent may be in violation of Australian Federal Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submit a report<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can submit a report <\/a>directly to Curtin\u2019s Foreign Interference department. If you would like to lodge an anonymous report, please do so via the Safer Communities website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discuss your concerns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contact a trusted teacher or <\/em><\/strong>email foreign.risk@curtin.edu.au<\/a> to talk to someone in more detail about foreign government harassment. If you\u2019d rather speak in person, this can also be arranged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
