With that, Curtin Stadium would like to congratulate St Catherine’s College for winning the overall competition for the second year in a row!

With St Catherine’s College only joining the Curtin University campus in 2022, the double win officially makes St Cats undefeated in the Housing Cup Competition. The Cats have proven they’re a force to be reckoned with and are consistent in their pride, unity and, of course, their sporting talent.

Taking it back to the start of the year, St Cats marched onto the outdoor courts for the Housing Games with their instruments, recognisable stripes, and good vibes. From the get-go, St Cats showed they were in it to win it.

Throughout the 12 competition events, St Cats continuously showed good sportsmanship and respect for each of the houses as well as for the Curtin staff and supervisors.

In addition to their positive attitude, St Cats always had strength in numbers which enabled them to claim the most wins of the year. In total, St Cats enjoyed 14 wins during the 2023 competition which, in turn, saw the house rally up almost 2000 points.

Kurrajong Village surpassed the reigning champs for a few weeks during semester two but, unfortunately for KV, St Cats had a double win in 3×3 basketball and AFL 7’s. This led to Kurrajong Village coming in 2nd place – just 129 points short of claiming 1st.

In 3rd place was Twin Dolphins who won both Badminton events this year. Guild House came in 4th place, followed by Vickery House and Erica Underwood who came 5th and 6th, respectively.

Curtin Stadium would like to thank all the participating houses as well as each and every housing student who came along. Whether you came to every Housing Cup event this year or only came along to one, we thank you and hope you enjoyed yourselves!

[145
post-22590","oasis-news","type-oasis-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","oasis-categories-sport-recreation
":null
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
