{"id":20871,"date":"2023-03-10T15:16:32","date_gmt":"2023-03-10T07:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/?post_type=oasis-news&#038;p=20871"},"modified":"2026-03-26T10:25:52","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T02:25:52","slug":"volunteer-for-curtin-open-day-2023","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/volunteer-for-curtin-open-day-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer for Curtin Open Day 2023!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Want to get involved with Curtin\u2019s largest student recruitment event in 2023?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open Day is taking place at Curtin Perth on Sunday 26 March!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteering at Open Day is a great opportunity to gain experience working at a fun and vibrant event, share your Curtin experience with prospective students and meet like-minded students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your involvement as a volunteer is pivotal to running and creating an exceptional event experience for future students on the day. There are four main volunteering roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Walking guide<\/strong> \u2013 walking around an allocated area of campus and assisting guests in finding locations (for example, helping them find the location of an information session.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Information marquee assistant<\/strong> \u2013 being placed at an information marquee and answering guest questions (for example, helping them find the nearest bathrooms.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roving helpers<\/strong> \u2013 assisting Curtin staff with ad-hoc tasks, such as checking in on information marquees and replenishing stocks of materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Information session assistant<\/strong> \u2013 assisting with guiding guests into information sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Roles will be allocated following your registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Volunteer shifts available:<\/strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-df-font-size\">Full day shift: 8:30am \u2013 4:30pm&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-df-font-size\">Morning shift: 8:30am \u2013 1pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-df-font-size\">Afternoon shift: 11am \u2013 4:30pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All volunteers will receive a free Curtin t-shirt, lanyard and (those available for a full day shift) will get a free lunch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the event, you are required to attend 1 x one-hour online briefing session.
