And let’s face it: sometimes working from home isn’t a viable option, you’re keen for a change of scenery, or the Curtin campus is just too far away. Here are our top five places to study in the Perth area.

1. State Library of Western Australia

A short walk from both the Perth Train Station and the Perth Busport, the State Library is the go-to destination for the studious, the bookish, and those in need of a quiet space to work.

With its central location, free Wi-Fi, and six sprawling floors full of study spaces, the State Library is the ideal for meeting up to work on group projects or simply study with your friends. If studying alone is more your style, try and snag a window seat that looks out onto the thriving Perth Cultural Centre. And don’t forget to grab a snack from the Ground+Co café, located on the ground floor of the library.

2. Perth City Library

While most Perth locals know of the State Library’s study spaces, there is a lesser-known hidden gem just a ten minute walk away. The Perth City Library, with its modern architecture, outdoor terrace and stunning views of the plaza below, is the perfect setting for a relaxing study session. Take in the striking ceiling mural, make use of the free Wi-Fi, or simply wander through the seven floors to find the perfect study nook for you.

3. Your local cafe

If silence isn’t your thing, try heading to your local café. Order a sweet treat and a cup of coffee to keep you energised, and set yourself up on one of the available tables. Studying at a café is best for immersive work, such as listening to lectures or sinking your teeth into the planning stages of your assignment. If you need access to Wi-Fi, check your café’s website before you head out.

4. Your local park

Sometimes, you just need a breath of fresh air. Or perhaps a chance encounter with a friendly dog. Setting yourself up at your local park is perfect if you have some long readings to do or need to knuckle down and study with some of your friends. Don’t forget to bring snacks, water, sunscreen and a portable charger: you might find yourself staying longer than you originally intended.

5. Other university campuses

Just because you don’t go to a university, that doesn’t mean you can’t use their facilities. If you live close to another university, consider using their campus as a convenient place to study. Logging on to the eduroam Wi-Fi using your student number will give you access to free Wi-Fi on any Perth university campus.

If you’re keen for a change of scenery, or the Curtin campus is just too far away, here are our top five places to study in the Perth area.

[146
post-20844","oasis-news","type-oasis-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","oasis-categories-student-life
":null
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
