{"id":13968,"date":"2022-12-05T06:24:39","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T22:24:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/you-could-receive-a-free-food-parcel\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T11:27:52","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:27:52","slug":"you-could-receive-a-free-food-parcel","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/you-could-receive-a-free-food-parcel\/","title":{"rendered":"You could receive a free food parcel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Through the generosity of donors to the Curtin Cares About Students initiative, our corporate partner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dinnertwist.com.au\/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi5DXp9q09AIVFZ1LBR2_Egz0EAAYASAAEgI3qfD_BwE\">Dinner Twist<\/a> and our staff and student volunteers, the Curtin Community Pantry will be distributing over 800 specially packed food parcels and a limited number of vouchers to students as part of the Pantry\u2019s Food Parcel Drive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are an enrolled Curtin student who is experiencing financial difficulty you may be eligible for this service.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please fill in the <a href=\"https:\/\/curtin.au1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_8faSSkamRbm0CpM\"><u>online form<\/u><\/a>\u00a0to reserve your parcel(s) or voucher.<\/p>\n<p>Parcels can be collected in-person from the Curtin Perth (Bentley) campus or you may request a free delivery*.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unable to collect it in-person and do not qualify for delivery, you may be eligible for a voucher.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that there is a limit of two parcels or one voucher per student (subject to availability) and they will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis.<\/p>\n<p>Should you require more supplies, the Community Pantry is still open for you to pick up individual items of non-perishable food and\/or other essentials.<\/p>\n<p>Contents of each parcel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basmati rice, 300g<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate, 1 block<\/li>\n<li>Curry spice sachet 20g<\/li>\n<li>Dried Italian herbs, sachet<\/li>\n<li>Falafel Mix<\/li>\n<li>Long pasta 500g<\/li>\n<li>Mexican spice sachet<\/li>\n<li>Mission tortilla strips<\/li>\n<li>Rice cakes, 1 packet<\/li>\n<li>Rice noodles 200g<\/li>\n<li>Salsa (mild), 1 jar<\/li>\n<li>Short pasta 500g<\/li>\n<li>Tinned beans \u2013 cannellini<\/li>\n<li>Tinned chickpeas<\/li>\n<li>Tinned chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>Tinned coconut milk<\/li>\n<li>Tinned red curry paste<\/li>\n<li>Tomato passata 690g<\/li>\n<li>Tomato paste x 2<\/li>\n<li>Tortillas, wholegrain<\/li>\n<li>Pappadums<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*The free delivery service is only available for students who live within 20 km of Curtin Perth (Bentley) <strong>and<\/strong> do not have suitable transport options and\/or are unable to access the campus.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the Community Pantry please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/students.curtin.edu.au\/experience\/volunteering\/community-pantry\/\">website<\/a>.
