{"id":13844,"date":"2022-12-05T06:24:06","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T22:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/covid-19-update-4-august\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T11:23:08","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:23:08","slug":"covid-19-update-4-august-2","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/covid-19-update-4-august-2\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Update: 4 August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This afternoon the Premier announced that WA Health is investigating a weak positive case of COVID-19 involving a man in his 30s, a FIFO worker in the Pilbara region.<\/p>\n<p>The man had COVID-19 in March 2020 when he returned from overseas travel. He is asymptomatic, and currently in self-quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>Two of his close contacts have already returned negative results. Other close contacts are being tested and are in quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>It is possible he contracted the virus at Perth Airport on Tuesday, 20 July, between 4am and 7am. That is the same time as a positive case from Queensland flew into Perth but was denied entry to WA, and subsequently tested positive when he returned to Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>WA Health are working on a list of potential exposure sites, and these will be added to the website as the information is finalised. They are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthywa.wa.gov.au\/Articles\/A_E\/Coronavirus\/Locations-visited-by-confirmed-cases?fbclid=IwAR1c6i9Ou1FGmrCYt4mLwYOALstAdGfZfXp9UdehkNLbF19ruksPUuAJ-O4\">Healthy WA website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Everyone who was at Perth Airport Terminal 4 (the Qantas Domestic Terminal) on 20 July between 4am and 7am, or on 27 July between 4:30pm and 6pm, must also now get tested immediately and self-quarantine until they get a negative result.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All students are also asked to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Check the exposure sites on the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthywa.wa.gov.au\/Articles\/A_E\/Coronavirus\/Locations-visited-by-confirmed-cases\"><em>Department of Health\u2019s website<\/em><\/a><em>.
