{"id":13798,"date":"2022-12-05T06:23:51","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T22:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/covid-19-update-2-july\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T11:21:15","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:21:15","slug":"covid-19-update-2-july-2","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/covid-19-update-2-july-2\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Update: 2 July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This afternoon Premier McGowan announced that the recent restrictions on the Perth and Peel regions will phased out over the next nine days if the number of new COVID cases remains low.<\/p>\n<p>There will be some relaxation of restrictions from 12.01am Saturday 3 July to 12.01am Tuesday 6 July, with further easing to apply over the subsequent six days.\u00a0 The aim is for the Perth and Peel regions to return to pre-lockdown conditions by 12 July.<\/p>\n<p>To see the full COVID-19 protocols which will be in place in WA from 3 to 12 July 2021, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wa.gov.au\/government\/announcements\/end-of-lockdown-perth-and-peel-1201am-saturday-3-july\">State Government website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The following protocols will apply to Curtin\u2019s Perth and Peel venues and campuses for 3 to 5 July inclusive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The University will reopen but most staff will work from home.<\/li>\n<li>Face masks must be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking.<\/li>\n<li>All events planned for Monday 5 July will be cancelled.<\/li>\n<li>All libraries on the Perth campus will be closed.<\/li>\n<li>Stadium and multifaith venues will be closed.<\/li>\n<li>There are limitations on travel outside of the Perth\/Peel region.<\/li>\n<li>Fieldwork (excluding placements) within the Perth\/Peel region should be postponed where possible until after Monday 5 July. If the fieldwork must continue it is subject to the following conditions:<\/li>\n<li>Should not exceed 20 participants;<\/li>\n<li>Must comply with the 4 square metre rule;<\/li>\n<li>Follow COVID Safe protocols;<\/li>\n<li>Follow mask wearing requirements; and<\/li>\n<li>Follow travel protocols.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fieldwork outside of that region will not be capped but is subject to the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow mask wearing requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Follow COVID Safe protocols;<\/li>\n<li>Follow travel protocols<\/li>\n<li>Comply with the four square metre rule;<\/li>\n<li>Visits to hospitality, entertainment and recreation venues or other public gatherings are not allowed, and<\/li>\n<li>Visits to retail venues or other businesses for takeaway purchases is permitted.<\/li>\n<li>Any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 must be reported to Curtin\u2019s Safer Community Team immediately on 9266 4444.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further information will be issued to students on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your patience \u00a0during this period; I know that lockdowns are stressful for individuals and their families.
