{"id":13796,"date":"2022-12-05T06:23:51","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T22:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/covid-19-update-28-june\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T11:21:14","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:21:14","slug":"covid-19-update-28-june-2","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/covid-19-update-28-june-2\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Update: 28 June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Curtin\u2019s Perth campuses and venues are closed as part of the COVID-19 lockdown.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many students will be aware of this evening\u2019s announcement by the Premier of a four-day lockdown of the Perth and Peel areas.\u00a0<strong>Accordingly, students should not attend Curtin\u2019s metropolitan campuses and venues from midnight today (Monday 28 June) until midnight Friday 2 July.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curtin\u2019s Kalgoorlie campus will operate as usual.<\/p>\n<p>We are aware that some Higher Degree by Research students who are not Curtin staff may need to visit campus to maintain experiments. If this applies to you, please email <a href=\"mailto:essential.worker@curtin.edu.au\">essential.worker@curtin.edu.au<\/a> and include a clear justification as to why the work is considered essential, along with your student ID and the name of your supervisor.\u00a0 Students who do not have access to online facilities or are at risk please email <a href=\"mailto:essential.worker@curtin.edu.au\">essential.worker@curtin.edu.au<\/a>\u00a0to request access to a computer laboratory, along with your student ID. \u00a0Please note that students must not leave their house to attend work without an essential worker approval email.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone in the Curtin community who has been in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wa.gov.au\/organisation\/covid-communications\/covid-19-coronavirus-locations-visited-confirmed-cases\">exposure site<\/a> identified by the Government, or who develops symptoms, must be tested for COVID-19 and remain at home until they receive a health clearance and the lockdown has ended.\u00a0 This requirement includes essential workers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your health and wellbeing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We understand this might be a difficult\u00a0time for students and encourage you to prioritise your own health and wellbeing.\u202fIf you feel you would like some additional support, our Counselling,\u00a0Access Ability\u00a0and Wellbeing\u00a0Services will be available online or by telephone.\u00a0Appointments can be made by calling during office hours:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentlifecycleengagement.createsend1.com\/t\/d-l-qthttut-l-i\/\">Psychological and Counselling Service<\/a>:\u202f9266\u00a07850<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentlifecycleengagement.createsend1.com\/t\/d-l-qthttut-l-d\/\">AccessAbility\u00a0Services:\u00a0<\/a>9266 7850<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentlifecycleengagement.createsend1.com\/t\/d-l-qthttut-l-h\/\">Student Wellbeing Advisory Service<\/a>: 1800 244 043<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are experiencing a personal crisis and need to speak with a counsellor now, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Crisis Care Helpline on 9223 1111.<\/p>\n<p>For any urgent matters which involve an emergency or someone in danger, please call the Safer Community Team on 9266 4444 or please refer to the emergency numbers\u00a0on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studentlifecycleengagement.createsend1.com\/t\/d-l-qthttut-l-o\/\">Current Students website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin will continue to follow State Government directives through this period.
