Curtin University has once again been named in the top one per cent of universities in the world, with the announcement of the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU<\/a>) 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Released annually by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, the ARWU ranks more than 2500 universities worldwide and publishes the top 1000 according to six indicators: alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals; highly cited researchers; articles published in the journals Nature and Science; articles indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index; and per capita performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne<\/a> said Curtin had once again excelled in these global rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is especially pleasing to see Curtin\u2019s strong research record and strength in science recognised on the world stage,\u201d Professor Hayne said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Federal Government recently released its National Science Statement and Research Priorities, which outlines the importance of universities in successfully building a Future Made in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCurtin\u2019s performance in the ARWU shows we are at the forefront of producing research and graduates relevant to not only Australia\u2019s future, but of international significance also.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhether it\u2019s in critical minerals, the clean energy transition, national resilience and security, radioastronomy or agriculture, this list shows our dedicated and passionate researchers, teaching staff and students are committed to making a real difference to people around the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ARWU result comes after Curtin was also recognised as a global leader in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
