West Australian industry figures joined representatives from Curtin University to celebrate the opening of the University\u2019s Dubai campus at a special event held in Perth.<\/p>\n
Curtin\u2019s newest campus, in the Dubai International Academic City, was recently opened by the Australian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the opening of Curtin Dubai was a significant milestone for the University.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurtin Dubai greatly strengthens our standing as a global university and a recognised international leader in research and education,\u201d Professor Terry said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe availability of Curtin\u2019s degree programs will be an advantage to students who want to live, work and study in a modern city like Dubai and will further enhance Dubai as the premier destination for education in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
The campus will offer Curtin programs to students mainly from the Middle East, the Indian Sub-Continent, Africa and Central Asia.<\/p>\n
Initial courses will include a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Business, Sciences and Humanities, with degree programs set to commence in January 2018. Curtin anticipates rolling out additional courses progressively in subsequent years.<\/p>\n
Curtin Dubai is the University\u2019s third overseas campus, following the establishment of Curtin Sarawak in 1999, and Curtin Singapore in 2008.<\/p>\n
Curtin Dubai was opened during the University\u2019s \u201850 Years of Innovation\u2019 celebrations \u2013 recognising the combined history of the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT), which opened its doors to students in 1967 and evolved into Curtin University in 1987.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
