{"id":18793,"date":"2017-05-29T03:41:54","date_gmt":"2017-05-28T19:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-st-stephens-school-partner-next-generation\/"},"modified":"2022-12-06T09:19:55","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T01:19:55","slug":"curtin-st-stephens-school-partner-next-generation","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-st-stephens-school-partner-next-generation\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin and St Stephen\u2019s School partner for next generation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Curtin University has partnered with St Stephen\u2019s School in a bid to boost the entrepreneurial and innovation skills of the next generation of leaders.<\/p>\n<p>As part of Curtin\u2019s Innovative Schools Consortium, St Stephen\u2019s School students will now be able to participate in workshops, and game-based learning to develop new skills and attributes valued by universities and employers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-40594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Professor-Jill-Downie-and-Principal-Donella-Beare.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>Curtin will also provide support to St Stephen\u2019s School to enable staff to develop new curricula applying STEM approaches and transdisciplinary thinking to address real-world challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jill Downie said the partnership, cemented with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding agreement, was a great opportunity for both institutions to work together on developing new ways of learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurtin is delighted to partner with St Stephen\u2019s School and work with its students, teachers and senior staff to focus on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship,\u201d Professor Downie said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are particularly impressed with the school&#8217;s commitment to developing the next generation of leaders with the core attributes required for future employment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>St Stephen\u2019s School Principal Donella Beare said the school was thrilled to partner with Curtin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited by the opportunities this relationship will bring,\u201d Mrs Beare said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to giving our students every opportunity to pursue their academic goals.
