Eighteen student fashion designers recently presented their end of year collections at the 2016 Curtin Fashion Graduate Show, titled Bespoke<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The students, who presented their distinctive and unique collections at the showcase, were also responsible for organising the event, including promotion, music and venue set-up.<\/p>\n

Dr Anne Farren, Head of Fashion Design at Curtin said the end of year showcase was a great opportunity to celebrate the success of the students.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe showcase, Bespoke<\/em>, reflected the huge amount of work and time put in by each student and it was a great way to end the year,\u201d Dr Farren said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is so rewarding to watch the students\u2019 grow throughout their time at Curtin and to watch them present their final collections, which they have spent so long working on.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach student puts an incredible amount of effort into each piece they produce and we wish them all the best in their future careers within the fashion industry,\u201d<\/p>\n

A number of students also received awards at the end of year showcase for their outstanding work on their final collections.<\/p>\n

Curtin student Miss Sarah Mah won the Fashion Course Academic Award, which recognises the student who achieves the highest overall course weighted average.<\/p>\n

Her collection, MAH, draws on the fragmented geometric yet curved forms of origami and also is inspired from the human skeleton and its paradoxical nature.<\/p>\n

Curtin student Miss Naomi Halls won a one month internship with Zomp shoes for her collection SHIBUI: HAND OF THE MAKER. <\/em>As part of the internship, Ms Halls will have the opportunity to develop and produce her own original design for Zomp\u2019s 2017 range.<\/p>\n

Curtin student Miss Adeline Pasquale won the Fashion Industry Award which includes a one month sponsorship for access to Common Ground Collective in Fremantle to promote and sell her garments.<\/p>\n

The City of Joondalup awarded four outstanding students the Urban Couture prize, which includes a masterclass alongside the City of Joondalup\u2019s Urban Couture ambassador in 2017.<\/p>\n
