digital reputation addressed in Curtin\u2019s latest MOOC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Curtin University\u2019s latest Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) challenges participants to maintain brand reputation in a networked world where everyone is a media producer, where fiction is often confused for fact and information spreads like wildfire.<\/p>\n<p>The new MOOC, titled <em>Reputation Management in a Digital World<\/em>, is designed to give people the skills to confidently manage an organisation\u2019s online reputation.<\/p>\n<p>Public Relations Lecturer and Course Coordinator Ms Bridget Tombleson, Curtin\u2019s School of Marketing, said the course see participants take on the role of a communications manager for a fictional organisation and make decisions which will affect its online reputation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRunning over six weeks, the solely online course shows participants how to develop, promote and manage an organisation\u2019s reputation by studying real-world examples,\u201d Ms Tombleson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticipants will also gain experience in how to appropriately manage an online crisis across multiple platforms by applying reputational management principles and building a strong participatory culture to engage audiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe course is ideal for anyone working in marketing, communications, public relations, social media and advertising who wants to remain ahead in a sector that is fast-paced and ever changing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Reputation Management in a Digital World<\/em> is the second course in Curtin\u2019s digital marketing MOOC series, which is offered in partnership with edX, a world-leading online education provider.<\/p>\n<p>Founded by Harvard University and MIT in 2012, edX is an online learning destination and MOOC provider, offering high-quality courses from the world\u2019s best universities and institutions to learners everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin is the only Western Australian University in the edX consortium.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reputation Management in a Digital World<\/em> begins 30 May.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit <a
