Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry has advised that the condition of both students injured in a shooting in New Orleans yesterday continues to improve.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth students are awake and alert, though still hospitalised.\u00a0 Family members of the two young men are either with them or arriving soon,\u201d Professor Terry said.<\/p>\n
\u201cProfessor Sam Spearing, Director of the Curtin WA School of Mines, will be arriving in New Orleans today and another senior Curtin academic who is in New Orleans on business has also offered to provide support.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe students and their families are also being supported by the Australian Consulate-General in the United States.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the past 24 hours Curtin has received many messages of concern and offers of assistance from staff and University partners, and is very appreciative of the support.<\/p>\n
