{"id":18379,"date":"2015-03-05T04:13:31","date_gmt":"2015-03-04T20:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/health-promotion-lecturer-receives-emerging-leader-award\/"},"modified":"2015-03-05T04:13:31","modified_gmt":"2015-03-04T20:13:31","slug":"health-promotion-lecturer-receives-emerging-leader-award","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/health-promotion-lecturer-receives-emerging-leader-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Health promotion lecturer receives Emerging Leader Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">A Curtin University health promotion lecturer has recently been announced as the 2015 Emerging Health Promotion Leader by The Australian Health Promotion Association.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ms Gemma Crawford from Curtin\u2019s School of Public Health, was awarded the title for being a<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">n individual who inspires through her actions and has guided others in their practice. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Awards provide an opportunity for health promotion professionals to be recognised by colleagues and peers for their commitment and innovation in health promotion practice. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Professor Bruce Maycock, Head of Curtin\u2019s School of Public Health, said Gemma\u2019s passion, insight and support for her students and the profession has contributed to the development of a strong health promotion workforce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cGemma is dedicated to supporting the development of the health promotion profession and has worked hard to build the reputation of health promotion both in Western Australia and nationally,\u201d said Professor Maycock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">We are very pleased and excited for Gemma and look forward to seeing what comes next for this talented and enthusiastic professional.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ms Crawford said: \u201cI am really honoured to receive this recognition for doing work that I love.
