{"id":18371,"date":"2015-02-13T04:46:09","date_gmt":"2015-02-12T20:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-appoints-new-director-mba-program\/"},"modified":"2015-02-13T04:46:09","modified_gmt":"2015-02-12T20:46:09","slug":"curtin-appoints-new-director-mba-program","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-appoints-new-director-mba-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin appoints new Director of MBA program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Distinguished management academic Professor Brian D\u2019Netto has been appointed as Director of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Curtin Graduate School of Business (CGSB). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Dean of the CGSB Professor Mile Terziovski welcomed Professor D\u2019Netto\u2019s appointment citing him as a skilled human resource manager, teacher and consultant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cProfessor D\u2019Netto\u2019s extensive industry and academic experience in subjects such a strategic human resource management, leadership, organisational behaviour and employee relations will be of enormous benefit to the CGSB,\u201d Professor Terziovski said.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Professor D\u2019Netto joins Curtin from Charles Sturt University where he was Professor of Management (Leadership). He has also held a number of senior leadership roles including National Head, School of Business at the Australian Catholic University and Director of the Master of International Business program at the University of South Australia.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">He holds a PhD in Human Resources Management from The State University of New York in Buffalo, US. He has received a number of awards including Outstanding Teacher in Postgraduate Programs Award for 2005 at the University of South Australia, Outstanding Teaching in the MBA Program at Mt Eliza Business School and the Emerald Literati Network Highly Commended Award for Excellence in Research 2008.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Professor D\u2019Netto is a member of the Academy of Management (US) and a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Professor D\u2019Netto said his role will involve developing the current MBA program in terms of student numbers and course delivery options. Specifically, Professor D\u2019Netto aims to improve the internationalisation of the program and increase flexibility through enhanced online delivery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cAs part of Curtin\u2019s drive for continuous improvement, I will be identifying and implementing ways to improve the quality of teaching in the MBA program for both face-to-face and online,\u201d Professor D\u2019Netto said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cThe University has a reputation for excellence in teaching and I look forward to being part of the Curtin Graduate School of Business team to work towards building on this reputation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Professor D\u2019Netto commenced at the Curtin Graduate School of Business in January 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The MBA is the CGSB\u2019s flagship program which is aimed at middle and senior managers with an average of 10 years\u2019 relevant work experience.
