{"id":18332,"date":"2014-10-08T02:54:09","date_gmt":"2014-10-07T18:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-lecturer-recognised-commitment-mental-health\/"},"modified":"2014-10-08T02:54:09","modified_gmt":"2014-10-07T18:54:09","slug":"curtin-lecturer-recognised-commitment-mental-health","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-lecturer-recognised-commitment-mental-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin lecturer recognised for commitment to mental health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">A lecturer from Curtin University has today been awarded the McCusker Charitable Foundation Award for Excellence as part of the 2014 Mental Health Good Outcomes Awards.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Dr Robyn Martin, from Curtin\u2019s School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work, was presented the award by the Mental Health Commissioner, Tim Marney.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Associate Professor Angus Buchanan, Curtin\u2019s Head of Occupational Therapy and Social Work, said Dr Martin\u2019s contribution to the field of mental health spans over 20 years, working in and across mental health, domestic and family violence, homelessness, child protection and women&#8217;s services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cWe are delighted that Robyn has been recognised for her sustained and outstanding contribution to mental health,\u201d Associate Professor Buchanan said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cShe is an exceptional advocate and leader who is committed to sharing information about mental health recovery.
