Curtin University and the student-led Curtin Marketing Association will host the inaugural Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC) Mid-Year Doctoral Colloquium at Curtin\u2019s Bentley Campus from 30 June to 2 July 2014.<\/p>\n
The event is open to outstanding marketing PhD students worldwide who will compete for the opportunity to present their research and receive feedback and mentorship from leading academics and industry experts.<\/p>\n
The event is the first of its kind to be held separately from the ANZMAC annual conference.<\/p>\n
Curtin\u2019s selection as the host venue for the inaugural event, showcases the University\u2019s strong industry links and strong research focus.<\/p>\n
Conference co-chair, Professor Ian Phau of Curtin\u2019s School of Marketing said the event would give doctoral students a tremendous opportunity for exposure in their research fields, while also reinforcing Curtin\u2019s position as a leader in Western Australian business education.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wanted to do something different for this Colloquium, with a strong emphasis on creating an engaging and nurturing environment for research\u00a0students from around the world to gain constructive feedback on their theses, make new contacts, and be inspired to pursue a career in research,\u201d Professor Phau said.<\/p>\n
Professor Nigel de Bussy, Head of Curtin\u2019s School of Marketing said the University was delighted to be selected as host for the inaugural mid-year Colloquium.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur goal is to celebrate achievement in marketing scholarship in a friendly and supportive atmosphere,\u201d Professor de Bussy said.<\/p>\n
The program features several prominent speakers including internationally renowned scholars. The CEO of AirAsia X, Mr Azran Osman, will be the keynote speaker on the evening of 30 June, where he will talk about challenging the aviation status quo.<\/p>\n
Prize sponsors AirAsia X and Vittoria Coffee will be presenting prizes for \u2018Best Poster\u2019, \u2018People\u2019s Choice Poster\u2019 and \u2018Best Paper\u2019.<\/p>\n
