Curtin University students and alumni will star at this month\u2019s Perth Fashion Festival, showcasing the talent, creativity and \u201ccutting edge\u201d designs being created in the University\u2019s Fashion HUB.<\/p>\n

Ms Anne Farren, Head of Fashion, explained 2013 marked 10 years since the introduction of fashion studies at Curtin.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past 10 years we\u2019ve seen many changes in fashion and technologies that can be applied to garment making and a wonderful amount of creativity resulting in bespoke garments from our students,\u201d Ms Farren said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe diverse collections of past alumni, recent graduates and current students will all be on show at this year\u2019s Perth Fashion Festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the Student Runway event on 14 September, collections range from costume to contemporary fashion, including eco-design and eveningwear.\u00a0 This year 10 Curtin students will feature, presenting a total of 16 \u2018looks\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cStudents participating in the Western Australia \u2013 Hyogo Banshu Fashion Textile Program will also each present a mini-collection of their bespoke garments, created with or inspired by Japanese textiles at a special show on Friday 13 September.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Curtin University 10-Year Retrospective event will take place on Sunday 15 September.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis exciting event will profile the collections of fashion alumni and feature emerging WA designers currently studying at Curtin,\u201d Ms Farren said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
