{"id":17869,"date":"2012-02-02T05:55:18","date_gmt":"2012-02-01T21:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/international-energy-research-institute-launched-at-curtin\/"},"modified":"2022-12-06T09:14:16","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T01:14:16","slug":"international-energy-research-institute-launched-at-curtin","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/international-energy-research-institute-launched-at-curtin\/","title":{"rendered":"International energy research institute launched at Curtin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11892\" href=\"https:\/\/news.curtin.edu.au\/media-releases\/international-energy-research-institute-launched-at-curtin\/attachment\/liferguson\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-11892 aligncenter\" title=\"LI&amp;Ferguson\" src=\"https:\/\/news.curtin.edu.au\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/13\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/LIFerguson-321x214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"321\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The Honourable Martin Ferguson AM MP, Federal Minister for Resources and Energy, this morning launched Curtin University\u2019s Fuels and Energy Technology Institute (FETI) at Technology Park, Bentley.<\/p>\n<p>FETI will carry out fundamental research and technology development to provide solutions to the energy and environmental issues facing Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute will have a network of research collaboration with researchers from around Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Europe and USA.<\/p>\n<p>FETI Director, John Curtin Distinguished Professor Chun-Zhu Li, said the Institute will ensure Western Australia continues to deliver ground-breaking research into the areas of renewable and fossil fuel energies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Institute sees government, industry and educational institutions work together to address national needs for fuels and energy to deliver improved energy security and reduced CO2 emissions,\u201d Professor Li said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that FETI will become an international centre of excellence in the field of energy science and engineering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The key research areas include Bioenergy Science and Engineering, Fuel Cell Technology, Energy Storage, Coal Science and Technology, Natural Gas Conversion Engineering, Interdisciplinary Energy Science and Engineering &amp;
