{"id":17840,"date":"2011-11-16T06:40:38","date_gmt":"2011-11-15T22:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-student-nurses-head-to-tanzania\/"},"modified":"2011-11-16T06:40:38","modified_gmt":"2011-11-15T22:40:38","slug":"curtin-student-nurses-head-to-tanzania","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-student-nurses-head-to-tanzania\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin student nurses head to Tanzania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four student nurses from Curtin\u2019s School of Nursing and Midwifery will travel to Tanzania later this month to broaden their healthcare skills and expand their cultural awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Final-year students Claire Bammer, Sarah Duckworth, Rhiannon Italiano and Tor Nilsen will join 16 nursing students from universities across Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The students will travel to Tanzania on 25 November after receiving a number of generous grants from the Global Health Alliance Western Australia (GHAWA) through the Department of Health.<\/p>\n<p>They will travel with expert clinicians and undertake placements at\u00a0Mission Mikocheni Hospital, attached to the Hubert Kairuki Memorial University\u00a0and Amana Hospital in the Tanzanian former capital city of Dar Es Salaam.
