This is a competition specifically designed for the Univation program to identify the best mobile app concept from staff, students and alumni of WA universities.”

Mr McDougall said finalists of the WApp awards would present their apps as part of this year’s Univation program and go into the running to win prize money and resources allowing them to build an advanced prototype for launch.

“Finalists will be judged by a panel of world-leading investors and entrepreneurs in the information and communications technology space chaired by Mr Tai,” he said.

“It is shaping up to be an exciting program and we are already seeing strong interest for the WApp Awards.
