{"id":17728,"date":"2011-03-23T02:28:28","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T18:28:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtins-2-5m-student-research-facility-opens\/"},"modified":"2025-06-17T11:48:59","modified_gmt":"2025-06-17T03:48:59","slug":"curtins-2-5m-student-research-facility-opens","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtins-2-5m-student-research-facility-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin&#8217;s $2.5m student research facility opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>C045\/11<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curtin\u2019s new multi-million dollar research facility dedicated to health sciences postgraduate research students was officially opened on Monday 21 March.<\/p>\n<p>The Health Sciences Graduate Research Hub is part of a major refurbishment project that will provide students access to state-of-the-art facilities in a central research environment.<\/p>\n<p>With 127 workstations for full-time and part-time students, video conferencing facilities, a wireless network, purpose built seminar rooms and interview rooms, the research hub will provide health sciences graduate students with innovative facilities to help them in the learning process, and solidify Curtin\u2019s reputation as an innovator in research.<\/p>\n<p>Located at Technology Park the new hub continues Curtin\u2019s Health Innovation Research Institute\u2019s (CHIRI) vision to integrate health research, teaching and practice into an interdisciplinary team-based approach.<\/p>\n<p>Health Sciences Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jill Downie, said the distinctive development supported Curtin\u2019s vision to be a world-class teaching and research university.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGroundbreaking research rarely occurs in isolation.
