has prompted Curtin University of Technology  to offer four new undergraduate scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>Two new Curtin Business School (CBS) Innovation Scholarships and the  industry-supported Ingres Scholarship and ACS Foundation Scholarship are open to  local and international students starting a Bachelor of Commerce in Business  Information Systems (IS) and Business Information Technology (IT) in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The CBS Innovation Scholarships will each provide $10,000 per year over three  years to assist with costs associated with studying such as fees and text  books.<\/p>\n<p>The Ingres Scholarship (valued at $2,500) and the ACS Foundation Scholarship  (valued at $2,000) are supported by the School of Information Systems and  provide work-integrated learning as well as financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin Business School Pro-vice Chancellor, Professor Duncan Bentley, said an  Information Systems or Information Technology degree could give graduates a  global career path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurtin graduates are working for world-class companies such as CSC,\u00a0 KPMG,  CSG, Deliottes, Oracle, Ajilon Consulting and\u00a0 Bankwest and are earning  impressive salaries averaging more than $90,000* per year,\u201d Professor Bentley  said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese new scholarships are another way Curtin is responding to industry  demands by providing job-ready graduates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The scholarships are supported by the Ingres Corporation, a leading provider  of open source information management services and the ACS Foundation,  established by the Australian Computer Society in 2001, which aims to encourage  sponsorship of higher IT education and research.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the scholarships close on 3 November 2008.<\/p>\n<p>For more
