Whether you\u2019re an artist, writer, performer, designer, filmmaker, or creative technologist, we\u2019re inviting you to discover the hidden stories, overlooked spaces, and rich collections that make our Library the beating heart of Curtin\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Creative in Residence program offers a unique opportunity for one Curtin student to undertake a community-focused creative project over a semester. Supported by a mentor and working from the Library\u2019s Makerspace, the selected creative will develop and deliver a project that sparks curiosity, invites participation and enhances the Library experience for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need to be a traditional artist to apply. What we\u2019re looking for is someone who\u2019s excited by the challenge of using creativity to connect people \u2013 across disciplines, backgrounds, and experiences. Whether you\u2019re passionate about sustainability, storytelling, sound, sculpture, digital design or zine-making, we want to see how you can bring the Library to life in new and unexpected ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why \u201cCreative Curiosity\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its core, curiosity is what drives learning, exploration and play \u2013&nbsp;the same qualities that define a great library. Through this residency, we want to spotlight the Library as more than a place to study or borrow books. It\u2019s a space to wonder, experiment and engage with others. It\u2019s a place where creative ideas take root and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the residency, you\u2019ll be encouraged to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explore the Library\u2019s physical and digital collections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage students and staff through participatory workshops or activations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reimagine overlooked corners or familiar spaces through your creative lens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a final artwork, experience, or installation that reflects your journey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Receive<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A stipend to support your time and creative work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A materials budget to bring your project to life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to the Library Makerspace and workspace during the residency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support from a creative mentor and the Library team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunities to showcase your work and connect with the campus community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ready to Apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are now open to all currently enrolled Curtin students from any discipline.
