{"id":3654,"date":"2023-01-05T07:39:41","date_gmt":"2023-01-05T07:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/?page_id=3654"},"modified":"2024-03-01T05:46:15","modified_gmt":"2024-03-01T05:46:15","slug":"reciprocal-visitors","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/using-the-library\/join\/reciprocal-visitors\/","title":{"rendered":"Reciprocal membership for visitors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Visitors from Australian or New Zealand universities can apply for reciprocal membership at our Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Membership for visitors from Western Australian universities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Current students and staff from Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, University of WA and University of Notre Dame may apply for reciprocal membership to Curtin University Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can register online before travelling to our library so that your record is available on our system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply for reciprocal membership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:1\">\n<li>Click on the <a href=\"https:\/\/auth.lis.curtin.edu.au\/recip\/index.cgi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration Form<\/a> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your <strong>home university<\/strong> from the drop-down menu, then click on <strong>Continue to your organisation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When prompted, enter your home university username and password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will then be presented with the <em>WA Reciprocal Borrower Registration<\/em> form that has been populated with your details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue to fill in the blank fields and click on <strong>Register<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After completing the form, the Library will send your membership confirmation to the email address you have nominated. This will include your membership number and password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To receive your Library card, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/using-the-library\/tl-robertson-library\/\">TL Robertson Library<\/a> between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please bring a photographic ID and proof of your current residential address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Membership for visitors from Australian or New Zealand universities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a>Curtin Library is a member of the&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caul.edu.au\/programs-projects\/ulanz-borrowing-scheme\">National Borrowing Scheme<\/a>&nbsp;which allows students and staff from member universities to borrow in-person from any other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caul.edu.au\/programs-projects\/ulanz-contacts\">participating Australian or New Zealand&nbsp;university libraries<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To request or renew reciprocal membership visit TL Robertson Library between 9am \u2013 5pm Monday to Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/using-the-library\/tl-robertson-library\/\">when the Library is open<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please bring your university ID or photographic ID. You will also need to provide your university email address and be able to sign in to prove your current enrolment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Library services for reciprocal members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Borrowing from our collections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our collection is accessible through our \u2018click and collect\u2019 service. Requested items are available for collection at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/facilities\/\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/using-the-library\/tl-robertson-library\/\">TL Robertson Library<\/a>. For information on borrowing, requesting, and returning items, visit our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/borrowing\/\">Books, resources and laptops page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Electronic resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use your Curtin Library membership details to access databases. Databases for guest use do not require a login.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Databases for use from home<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/databases.library.curtin.edu.au\/?group=GUEST\">Databases for guest use<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Databases for use in the Library<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Electronic databases can be accessed from Library computers. Databases available onsite are found at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/databases.library.curtin.edu.au\/?group=GUEST\">Databases for guest use<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/databases.library.curtin.edu.au\/?group=WALKIN\">Databases for onsite use<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Library spaces<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/library\/using-the-library\/tl-robertson-library\/\">opening hours<\/a> page for up-to-date opening hours. Community members, alumni and reciprocal borrowers are welcome to use our library spaces when a Curtin ID card is not required to access the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to book an individual or group study space, please see our <a href=\"https:\/\/bookings.library.curtin.edu.au\/\">booking page<\/a>. Bookings require your ID number and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Computers and printing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To use our computers, sign in as a Curtin visitor, then use your membership details to access the catalogue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reciprocal members cannot use Curtin University Wi-Fi and will need to use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/it\/internet-computers-printing\/wireless\/\">Eduroam wireless network<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photocopiers and printers are available in our libraries. Reciprocal members must register for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/it\/internet-computers-printing\/printing\/\">guest printing account<\/a> to use printing facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Help with finding information and academic skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Library&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.library.curtin.edu.au\/uniskills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UniSkills site<\/a> is a one-stop, interactive platform for&nbsp;help with finding books and articles and with assignment, study, digital and numeracy skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your reciprocal library membership is personal, non-transferable and valid for the current academic year, expiring on 28 February of the following year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A summary of loans, returns and fees is available from your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/link.library.curtin.edu.au\/catalogue\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Borrower Information<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our full range of databases is unavailable to reciprocal members because of licence constraints.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is an important condition of use that reciprocal members&nbsp;only&nbsp;use our electronic resources for&nbsp;<em>personal research<\/em>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<em>educational use&nbsp;<\/em>(not as a substitute for employers or businesses obtaining access to these resources).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While using the Library you are bound by our rules and regulations. Penalties and fines for late return of items may be levied. Failure to comply with the rules and practices may result in sanctions at your home university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must return borrowed items to the library from which you borrowed them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Visitors from Australian or New Zealand universities can apply for reciprocal membership at our Library.
