Ari Bayuaji (Indonesia \/ Canada): <\/strong>Ari Bayuaji graduated as a civil engineer and worked in Indonesia before deciding to move to Canada permanently in 2005, where he studied fine arts at Concordia University from 2005 to 2010. He now divides his time between Montreal and Bali. Bayuaji\u2019s art installations incorporate the use of found and readymade objects that he collects from various parts of the world \u2013 thereby exposing himself to different cultural traditions. He is an expert in conveying aspects of daily life within a culture as his works often expose the overlooked artistic value in everyday life expressed through objects and places and their roles within a society. Bayuaji has participated in numerous international artist-in-residency programs and international group exhibitions in Denmark, Indonesia, Germany and the United States. A large sculptural installation by Bayuaji is included in the permanent collection of Mus\u00e9e de Beaux Arts de Montr\u00e9al and he has major artworks in the collections of the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art Contemporain de Montr\u00e9al and the Mus\u00e9e National des Beaux-Arts du Qu\u00e9bec. 

Rudi Hendriatno (Indonesia)<\/strong>: Rudi Hendriatno joined the kriya classes at Indonesian Institute of Art, but since has focused mainly on sculpting wood. In 2013 he received the Indonesian Art Award and his works have been exhibited in several galleries both in Indonesia and internationally. Hendriatno is an emerging name in the Indonesian contemporary art scene due to his extensive skills in manipulating natural wood and creating kinetic works without the use of metals. His choice of wood is personal and as he states, closer to nature and to our daily lives. Working for years with this material, he has managed to master it to know all its properties and characteristics which helps him to create extremely sophisticated machines, with components that are only made by wood. What is most interesting is that he never creates a previous sketch or drawing before starting his works, but rather works with an instinctive and intuitive process. 


Anne Samat (Malaysia)<\/strong>: Anne Samat graduated from the Mara Institute of Technology, Malaysia with a bachelor\u2019s degree in textile design. Samat\u2019s museum exhibitions include solo shows at MASS MoCA, the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech University, the University of Wyoming Art Museum, and a group show at the ArtScience Museum, Singapore. In 2024 her work was part of the Biennale of Sydney<\/em> and in 2022 her work was featured at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale<\/em>. In 2020 she took part in the Asia Society Triennial, New York and in 2019 she exhibited at the Cheongju Craft Biennale<\/em> and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taiwan and held a residency at The Hudson Valley MoCA. Prior, her work was shown at the 2017 Yokohama Triennale. Samat\u2019s work is represented in various private and public collections worldwide including the Birmingham Museum of Art, National Art Gallery Kuala Lumpur, Singapore Art Museum KADIST Art Collection, Paris and San Francisco, and Hudson Valley MoCA, Peekskill, New York. 

Albert Yonathan Setyawan (Indonesia): <\/strong>Albert Yonathan Setyawan is a contemporary ceramic artist concerned with repetitions \u2013 why we form patterns in daily life, as well as the materiality and genealogy of clay in a cultural context. Setyawan has built an artistic practice in the field of contemporary ceramic art, while also translating his conceptual ideas into various mediums such as drawing, multi-media installation, performance and video documentation. Setyawan earned his Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art from Badung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. Following, he moved to Kyoto, Japan, to continue his research in contemporary ceramic art at Kyoto Seika University, where he received his doctoral degree. He has participated in several major exhibitions such as the 55th Venice Biennale<\/em> (2013), SUNSHOWER: Contemporary Art from Southeast Asia 1980s to Now<\/em>, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2017), and Contemporary Worlds: Indonesia<\/em> at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra (2019).  His works are in the collections of Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Tumurun Private Museum, Solo, POLA Museum Annex, Tokyo, OHD Museum, Magelang, Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu, Singapore Art Museum and Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Shiga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

IOTA24 Codes in Parallel is open to the public from 2 August to 29 September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gallery\u2019s public opening hours during exhibitions are Monday to Friday 11.00am to 5.00pm and Sunday 12.00pm to 4.00pm. Closed Saturdays and Public Holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
