Health includes both physical and psychological health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wellness<\/strong> refers to programs and facilities to help a person maintain and improve physical and mental wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wellbeing is defined as <\/strong>general health and happiness, a state of \u00a0emotional\/physical\/psychological well-being.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Wellness and Wellbeing are often used interchangeably and are sometimes confused with \u2018People Wellness.\u2019 People Wellness are Curtin workers who oversee the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provide support to workers experiencing stress and coordinate corporate wellbeing initiatives.<\/p>\n\n            <\/div>\n<\/div>            <\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reporting psychosocial incidents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first instance, discuss any immediate concerns with your line manager, or if not possible contact the <a href=\"mailto:healthandsafety@curtin.edu.au\">Health and Safety team<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All psychosocial incidents are to be reported in the <a href=\"https:\/\/riskware.riskcloud.net\/auth\/login?companycode=Curtin\">RISE system<\/a> using the psychosocial form. <strong>Psychosocial reports will remain confidential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<section\n                class=\"block accordions\" role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n        \n\n    <div class=\"accordions__container\">\n                    <div class=\"accordion\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading accordion__toggle\" aria-controls=\"how-do-i-report-psychosocial-incidents\" aria-expanded=\"false\">How do I report psychosocial incidents? <span class=\"ico ico-chevron-fat ico--deep-blue\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 32 32\"><path d=\"M10.91 30.41l-2.82-2.82L19.67 16 8.09 4.41l2.82-2.82L25.33 16 10.91 30.41z\"\/><\/svg><\/span><\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content content\" id=\"how-do-i-report-psychosocial-incidents\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><strong>Psychosocial reports will remain confidential<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curtin University staff and students can lodge psychosocial reports in RISE.<\/p>\n<p>To access RISE:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Log in to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/riskware.riskcloud.net\/auth\/login?companycode=Curtin\" rel=\"nofollow\">RISE here<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>or staff can access RISE via the <a title=\"Staff Portal\" href=\"https:\/\/staffportal.curtin.edu.au\/\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Staff Portal<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>application wheel. You should be contacted by the responsible person to commence an investigation and follow up on your report.<\/p>\n<p>You may be contacted by a PAC advisor or a Health and Safety Advisor. These roles have different responsibilities for managing a case and can vary from supporting injuries (physical and\/or psychological), investigating any breaches of Curtin\u2019s conduct requirements, assessing workloads and work demands. Communication and consultation with staff and stakeholders are essential at all stages to ensure a safe and informed community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the WHS legislation, it is a requirement to use a risk management approach to manage hazards and risks to worker health and safety, including psychological health and safety. A risk management approach enables the University to identify and address causal factors and systemic issues that may exist in the work environment.
