Growing up in the vibrant cultural tapestry of India, Falak Dadlani\u2019s family instilled in her a profound connection to nature and a reverence for trees. “When I was young, I followed these traditions without question. But as I got older, I realised they were rooted in the understanding that our environment is the bedrock of our existence,” Falak reflects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her grandparents’ tales painted a vivid picture of a world vastly different from today, highlighting the stark impact of climate change on her hometown and beyond. Motivated by this awareness, Falak resolved to take action. “Protecting the environment isn’t just about honouring my cultural heritage; it’s about expressing gratitude for all that nature has bestowed upon us,” she emphasizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently pursuing a double degree in Engineering and Commerce at Curtin Perth campus, Falak is one of a group of Planet Positive Student Champions, collaborating with Curtin to advance the Planet Positive Program<\/a>. This initiative seamlessly integrates with her academic pursuits, allowing her to leverage her expertise in business and engineering to effect positive change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Falak, education stands as the cornerstone in addressing the multifaceted challenges of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. “Being Planet Positive means recognizing the impact of our actions on the environment and acknowledging our capacity to effect meaningful change,” she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Planet Positive Student Champion, Falak would like to increase awareness of everyone’s role in combatting the climate crisis. “Education is the key to empowering individuals to tackle these pressing issues head-on,” she affirms. Through advocacy and education, Falak hopes to inspire others to embrace a Planet Positive mindset and join the collective effort to safeguard our planet for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
