{"id":7775,"date":"2026-05-18T15:41:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T07:41:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/events\/?p=7775"},"modified":"2026-05-18T15:41:28","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T07:41:28","slug":"idahobit-2026-film-festival-and-panel-discussion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/events\/idahobit-2026-film-festival-and-panel-discussion\/","title":{"rendered":"IDAHOBIT 2026: Film Festival and Panel Discussion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students are invited to attend a short film festival and panel discussion recognising <strong>International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia<\/strong> (IDAHOBIT) 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idahobit.org.au\/about-may-17\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.idahobit.org.au\/about-may-17\/\">IDAHOBIT<\/a> marks the 1990 decision to remove homosexuality from the World Health Organisation\u2019s Classification of Diseases. This year\u2019s theme, <em>\u201cAt the heart of democracy\u201d<\/em>, calls on all of us to stand against injustice and discrimination towards LGBTQIA+ communities, and highlights the importance of justice, inclusion and freedom for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event provides an opportunity to engage with diverse LGBTQIA+ stories through film, followed by a panel discussion that explores the role of art and creativity in challenging inequity, amplifying voices and celebrating community. Attendees will be encouraged to reflect, learn and connect in a supportive and inclusive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re looking to deepen your understanding, show support, or connect with others, this event offers a meaningful way to recognise IDAHOBIT and engage with important conversations on inclusion and belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to attend?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please register your attendance by <strong>Thursday 21 May 2026<\/strong>.
