We provide support and adjustments to accommodate these needs, such as:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n            \n            \n                <\/div>\n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Learning-materials\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Learning-materials\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Learning-materials\">Learning materials<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Learning-materials\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <ul>\n<li>Blackboard: All learning materials will be available via Curtin\u2019s Leaning Management System (Blackboard) and can be downloaded by a prison staff member to a local area network.<\/li>\n<li>Textbooks: If you need access to specific textbooks(s), these are available for purchase \/ loan either in hardcopy or fully downloadable format. Textbook and resource grants may be available to students who demonstrate financial hardship.<\/li>\n<li>Specialised software: If you\u2019re required to use specialised software, this is disclosed clearly in the unit outline to ensure that your prison can support implementation. Where possible, your Unit Coordinator may approve alternative software.<\/li>\n<li>External content: Links to third party learning materials (such as YouTube) are often problematic for prisons to access due to security restrictions \/ firewalls. Where possible, we check units to ensure third party materials are not essential learning, or can be accessed and downloaded in a copyright compliant manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Assessments\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Assessments\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Assessments\">Assessments<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Assessments\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <ul>\n<li>Group work assessments: You\u2019ll be offered an alternative assessment if required.<\/li>\n<li>Online assessments: Where online real time assessments are required, you\u2019ll be offered an alternative assessment, such as a hard copy assessment invigilated by prison education staff.<\/li>\n<li>Oral presentations: If this is a requirement of a unit, you\u2019ll be offered an alternative assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Assessment deadlines: Where necessary, you\u2019ll be granted appropriate assessment extensions based on individual or prison-based circumstances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n where a unit requires mandatory participation (such as chat groups or discussion boards), you\u2019ll be offered an alternative assessment if required.<\/li>\n<li>Practicums: Where a Curtin course requires students to undertake a mandatory practicum or fieldwork placement, this will be clearly communicated to you during the application process to ensure appropriate progression and completion planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Curtin students can apply for <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarships.curtin.edu.au\/\">a range of scholarships<\/a> including ones that are academic merit, equity-based \/ financial hardship and\/or specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. \u00a0Applications are welcomed from incarcerated students.<\/p>\n\n        \n
