It connects final-year Accounting students with small businesses, not-for-profits, and community organisations to offer free, practical accounting support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delivered under the supervision of qualified academics and industry mentors, the clinic enables students to apply their learning in a real-world setting while offering meaningful assistance to those who may not have ready access to professional services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the Accounting Clinic can help<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Accounting Clinic can assist with a range of business accounting needs, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bookkeeping and reconciliations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Budgeting and cash flow planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial reporting and analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business record management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial literacy for business owners and community leaders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who delivers the service?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Services are provided by final-year Accounting students undertaking a for-credit Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement. The Clinic also strengthens community connections while providing students with valuable, hands-on professional experience.<\/p>\n<h4>Eligibility<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently unrepresented (do not have a tax agent or accountant)<\/li>\n<li>Individuals<\/li>\n<li>Small Businesses<\/li>\n<li>Not-for-profit organisations<\/li>\n<li>Community Groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eligibility is based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Suitability for a student-led project<\/li>\n<li>The scale and complexity of your tech needs<\/li>\n<li>Availability within the academic calendar<\/li>\n<li>Capacity of student teams and supervisors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Application Process<\/h5>\n<p>Application \u2013 To apply for assistance, please complete the form below or email (<a href=\"mailto:curtinaccountingclinic@curtin.edu.au\">curtinaccountingclinic@curtin.edu.au<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>If your matter is urgent, please indicate this in your enquiry and a supervisor will contact you as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h5>Step 1: Review<\/h5>\n<p>Once your application is received, it will be reviewed by our academic staff in consultation with a student consulting team.<\/p>\n<p>We will assess:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The nature and scope of your request<\/li>\n<li>Whether it aligns with the Clinic\u2019s learning objectives<\/li>\n<li>Our current capacity to assist<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will be notified of the outcome of the review. You\u2019ll collaborate in small teams to solve genuine accounting and financial challenges for individuals, small businesses, and community organisations, guided by academics and industry mentors. Across the semester, you\u2019ll strengthen your technical skills, develop professional judgement, and build confidence working with clients. It\u2019s hands-on, practical, and an opportunity to apply your skills in a setting that feels both supportive and professional.<\/p>\n<h4>What students do<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Meet with real clients to understand their financial and business needs<\/li>\n<li>Assist with preparing and reviewing financial information, including basic accounts and records<\/li>\n<li>Conduct research to identify appropriate accounting treatments and compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li>Analyse financial data to provide practical insights and recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients in improving their record-keeping and financial management practices<\/li>\n<li>Communicate financial information clearly to clients in a professional and accessible way<\/li>\n<li>Work in small teams to develop and deliver client solutions<\/li>\n<li>Receive support from supervisors and mentors<\/li>\n<li>Present findings and recommendations in a professional setting<\/li>\n<li>Build practical and relevant real-world skills that employers expect from graduates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Eligibility Criteria<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Be on Good Standing with a minimum CWA of 65<\/li>\n<li>Have adequate space on your study plan to receive credit<\/li>\n<li>Enrolled in either an undergraduate or postgraduate Marketing or Advertising Degree<\/li>\n<li>Have completed a minimum of 300 credits if you are an undergraduate student or 100 credits if you are a postgraduate student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Application Process<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit an <a
