With grants of up to $20,000, the fund helps Curtin staff pilot new approaches that prepare students for future learning and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three Funding Streams:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stream 1:<\/strong> Piloting GenAI tools in teaching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stream 2:<\/strong> Industry expertise for GenAI-literate graduates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stream 3:<\/strong> Students as partners in assessment design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We congratulate our 2026 Future Fund recipients and acknowledge their innovative projects that will advance teaching and learning across Curtin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Shahid Latif, Dr Bonnie Mu, Dr Hosam Alden and&nbsp;Mdm&nbsp;Khin Than Myint (Faculty of Business &amp; Law) \u2013 Enhancing Accounting Education Through AI-Enriched Learning Resources<\/strong>&nbsp;will use&nbsp;NotebookLM&nbsp;to create AI-enhanced learning resources that support independent study and ethical AI use in accounting education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Daniel Brown (Faculty of Health Sciences) \u2013&nbsp;VoicED<\/strong>&nbsp;will explore AI-generated lecture voices to improve accessibility, engagement, and learning experiences for students in clinical neurophysiology.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Kate Tonta, Dr James Clarke, Dr Jemma Dessauvagie and Louise Pannekoek (<strong>Faculty of Health Sciences<\/strong>) \u2013 Skills Practice Using Artificial Intelligence<\/strong>&nbsp;will provide psychology students with low-stakes AI-supported practice opportunities to build confidence in professional communication and clinical skills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A\/Prof. Dr Tomayess Issa, Dr Mahnaz Hall, Dr Abhijeet&nbsp;Singh&nbsp;and Dr Sarita Hardin-Ramanan (<strong>Faculty of Business &amp; Law<\/strong>) \u2013 Corporate Sustainability Immersion<\/strong>&nbsp;will co-design a secure Socratic debate assessment framework that strengthens critical thinking, communication, and authentic assessment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Carly Steele, Dr Kathryne Ford, Prof. Toni&nbsp;Dobinson&nbsp;and Dr Grant Cooper (Faculty of Humanities) \u2013 Capstone to Classroom<\/strong>&nbsp;will redesign a Master of Education capstone to focus on authentic teacher-researcher projects in real educational settings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Tayyab Amjad (<strong><strong>Faculty of Business &amp; Law<\/strong><\/strong>, Curtin University Malaysia) \u2013 Live AI Pitch Simulation<\/strong>&nbsp;will use a custom AI investor to help students refine and defend business ideas through realistic pitch experiences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Luisa Campos, Dr Zubeida Rossenkhan and Dr Mahwish Anjam (<strong><strong>Faculty of Business &amp; Law<\/strong><\/strong>) \u2013 Incorporating AI in the Classroom<\/strong>&nbsp;will use AI-powered consulting simulations to prepare students for international business practice in an AI-driven world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Farveh Farivar (<strong><strong>Faculty of Business &amp; Law<\/strong><\/strong>) \u2013 Enhancing Authentic Assessment Through Interactive Visual Novels<\/strong>&nbsp;will introduce immersive, decision-based assessment experiences using interactive digital scenarios.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prof. Mingming Cheng, Dr Jingjie Zhu, A\/Prof. Joseph Sia and Dr Jason Tan (<strong><strong>Faculty of Business &amp; Law<\/strong><\/strong>) \u2013 Bringing Industry into the Classroom<\/strong>&nbsp;will use AI-generated stakeholder simulations to strengthen students\u2019 strategic communication and social media skills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Judith Daire, A\/Prof. Delia Hendrie, Dr Marshall Makate, <strong>Dr\u00a0Fazeela Waheed<\/strong> and Abby Modedale (<strong><strong>Faculty of Health Sciences<\/strong><\/strong>) \u2013 Co-designing Learning Journey Maps and AI Supported Feedback<\/strong>\u00a0will partner with students to improve feedback practices and support developmental learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Hassan Elsayed, Dr Mohamed Ibrahim, Prof. Ahmed El-Mowafy and Dr Amir Allahverdizadeh (Faculty of Science &amp; Engineering) \u2013 Surveyor\u2019s Buddy<\/strong>&nbsp;will introduce an AI-supported fieldwork assistant to enhance student learning, autonomy, and AI literacy in surveying.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A\/Prof. Chen Zheng, Claire Loh and Amalina Ibrahim (<strong><strong><strong>Faculty of Business &amp; Law<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>) \u2013 Voices that Shape Learning<\/strong>&nbsp;will engage students in co-designing GenAI-supported formative assessments to improve engagement and self-regulated learning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prof. Lisa Tee, A\/Prof. Andrew&nbsp;Crowe&nbsp;and Dr Rima Caccetta (<strong><strong><strong>Faculty of Health Sciences<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>) \u2013 Integrating Immersive Technologies and GenAI<\/strong>&nbsp;will embed AI-supported assessment activities within virtual and simulation-based learning environments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kim Balnaves (Faculty of Humanities) \u2013 Lane 1 Ethics Bowl Assessment Trial<\/strong>&nbsp;will develop an industry-informed Ethics Bowl assessment to strengthen ethical reasoning and GenAI literacy in education students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for the 2026 round are now closed, and all funded projects are due for completion by 31 December 2026.
