Prior to this, it operated as a section within the Department of Civil Engineering. The first head of Department was Dr. L.A. White.&nbsp; Mr S.W Munsie acted as Head until Dr White took up his appointment in June 1970.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nineteen students graduated in 1970.
